General Rules:
- No cell phones up front. If you need to take a call take it outside.
- Shoes MUST be worn in the restroom.
- Parents are allowed to watch, but under no circumstances should parents attempt to coach or reprimand their child on the mat.
- Keep voices low as to not interrupt class.
- No adults in the back until kid’s class are completely finished.
- No cursing.
- No punching the mat, throwing your belt, or any other hissy fits.
- Wait to be called onto the mat, especially if you’re late.
- Dark colored long sleeve rash guard, spats, and shorts are MANDITORY for NoGi classes.
- Rash guards only under the gi(Adults Only).
- No collared shirts for kids.
- No two tone gi’s (blue top with white bottoms).
- No pants under gi pants (leggings, shorts, or spats are ok).
- No hats or hoods indoors (cultural/religious exceptions).
- No accessories i.e. watches, necklaces, bracelets or rings.
- Wait to be called onto the mat, especially if you’re late.
- No shoes on the mat / no drinks on the mat.
- Bring your own gear; lenders are only for students in a trial period.
General Hygiene
- ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS after using the bathroom.
- Shoes are mandatory in the bathroom. NO SHOES, NO CLASS!
- Clip your nails. If you think to yourself, “they’re not that long.” – CLIP THEM. Small abrasions to the skin can increase the chance of an infection.
- If your job requires you to work with grease, oil, or any other substance, make sure to clean yourself properly BEFORE training.
- Shower directly after training. Increasing the time between training and showering will increase the chance for bacterial and fungal infections
- Have something itchy or questionable on your skin? Don’t ignore it! Athletes foot and jock itch is a common fungal infection that can be cured with most over the counter remedies.
- Do NOT just throw your gi or other gear on the floor when you get home. This will increase the chance for bacteria to cultivate.
- Gloves, Shin Guards, and head gear should be opened up to increase air flow and sprayed with disinfectant spray.
- The mats, Thai gear, bathrooms and common areas are clean daily.
- All staff and instructors are kept to the highest hygienic standard.
